BioI work at a family-owned business in a small town in Texas. One night while taking out the trash, my husband and I discovered something unusual in our dumpster—a baby hamster. The hamster was cold and dazed, and I could tell she was ill, but she ran right to me. We took her home, nursed her back to health, and she is now a happy and vibrant member of our family. We named her Newt after the girl in Aliens who survived monsters by hiding in garbage.
